「受身になる時はない。受身になろうと思う時もない。」
　これがこの授業の私の印象です。
　
　 授業名は「ドラマで学ぶ英語」でもドラマを見て学ぶのではなく、演じて学ぶという方法。
授業で扱うフレーズは今まで授業で習ってきた様な書き言葉ではなく話し言葉なので実践的ですし、 パントマイムなど体も使って学ぶので今でも頭に残ってます。

　 短いセリフにジェスチャーをつけて話を膨らませたり、床に円になって座って納豆を渡す真似をしたり…と、 毎回予想を絶する課題にびっくりしつつもみんな楽しく取り組んでます。
　だからと言っていつも納豆の真似して遊んでると言うわけではありません！今は自作のドラマを作成中だし、こういう方法を通して 「英語」と「演じる」ということをいろんな角度から学んでいます。

　 でもここでは英語は学ぶものではなく学ぶ為のツールという感じで、 授業もClara先生特有の明るいムードがあり、毎時間すごく楽しみです。
先生とも「この授業は必修にすべきです！」と話しいてます。
　そして何よりこの90分は本当にあっという間に過ぎていきます。寝不足だと辛い冬の１限でも眠気なんて吹っ飛んでいってしまうほどです。

授業概要2003年度シラバスより

Aims: One aim is to create through the use of drama, an atmosphere in which students feel comfortable enough to use their creativity and sense of fun to the fullest in English. Another aim is to widen the range of color and nuance students use in their spoken English. It is hoped that this class will build self-confidence and lead students to engage in English more fluently and expressively, both inside and outside the classroom.
Method: A wide mix of activities will include storytelling, skits, drama exercises, improvising, acting. and also listening and speaking exercises that focus on essential aspects of spoken English such as rhythm and intonation.
Contents: Various teaching and literary materials will be brought to class, and students will also provide and create stories, skits, and so on. Students will keep a journal.
