LawrenceH.White氏(F.A.Hayek Professor of Economic History, University of Missouri-St.Louis)の連続公開セミナーを開催します。
ホワイト氏は，Free banking in Britain: Theory, Experience, and Debate,1800-1845,Cambridge University Press,1984,Second.ed.1995や Competition and Currency: Essay on Free Banking and Money. New York: New York University Press,1989.などで，貨幣・信用論の分野では国際的に著名な経済学者です。今回のセミナーでは，現在，彼が執筆しているThe Clash of Economic Ideas の一部と，「貨幣と国家」というテーマで，経済思想史におけるセントラルバンキングとフリーバンキング論争を中心にお話しします。
